Moore Street resurfacing construction finished

The City of Oxford and Newton County completed the resurfacing of Moore Street and plan to move on to West Soule Street next. The construction project is part of a joint agreement between the city and county to address streets in Oxford in the worst condition.

Oxford public works employee coming to Covington

Oxford Public Works and Utilities Maintenance Worker Dustin James is moving to the City of Covington Gas Department after almost one year of employment in Oxford. James is in the process of a three-year lineman certification.

The City of Oxford is looking to fill the position left open and will be accepting applications through Friday, July 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Porterdale finishes memorial gym

Porterdale’s memorial gymnasium sign was erected last week. The gymnasium opened May 8 and can be reserved for events.
