Hank Johnson named influential Georgian

Congressman Hank Johnson (Georgia District 4) was named by Georgia Trend magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians for 2013. 

Other notable recipients include Rep. John Lewis, Sen. Johnny Isakson, philanthropist Arthur Blank, Chief Justice Carol Hunstein, Coca-Cola CEO Muhtar Kent, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and U.S. Poet Laureate and Emory Professor Natasha Trethewey.

Rep. Johnson is serving his fourth term as U.S. Representative from the Fourth Congressional District, which includes portions of DeKalb, Rockdale, Gwinnett and Newton counties. Congressman Johnson sits on the House Judiciary and Armed Services committees.

“I’m humbled to be mentioned in the same breath as my fellow awardees,” said Johnson. “Serving the people of the Fourth District is a singular honor. As long as I’m in office, I will give citizens of the Fourth everything I’ve got.”

Gov. Nathan Deal was named Georgian of the Year for 2013.

Aaron’s Inc. founder Charles Loudermilk and broadcast legend Monica Pearson were inducted into Georgia Trend’s 2013 Hall of Fame.
