Gum Creek Road is closed between Byrd Road and Edwards Road throughout the weekend. Culvert damage washed out the area under the road at Five Mile Branch and Newton County crews are working on restoring the area.

Crews will work throughout the weekend in an effort to have the road reopened Monday.
