The Annual Great Pumpkin Patch is about to sprout at Covington First United Methodist Church, 1113 Conyers St. There, some 2,000 pumpkins will be available for carvers, cooks and all sorts of creative creatures.

The Pumpkin Patch will be open Oct. 3-31, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon-7 p.m. on Sundays.

Families are invited to bring cameras and capture videos and photos of children among the pumpkins. Members of the Covington First UMC church family will be on hand to help with selections.

The Great Pumpkin Patch also is open to school groups for field trips. Groups will be guided through different areas that feature storytelling, face painting, games, and a video about the growth process of pumpkins. The field trip is free, and for $1 apiece, children can select a small pumpkin to take home.

For questions about the Pumpkin Patch or to schedule a field trip, call the church office at 770-786-7305 or email communications@fumccovington.
