Potential college students hoping to explore a new career path, learn about classes for their major, or find out about student clubs and organizations, can attend the Georgia Perimeter College Newton Campus open house Saturday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be a student panel discussion, campus tours, presentations and advising sessions from GPC academic faculty and dual enrollment staff; plus information about admissions and financial aid. Students also can learn about GPC’s more than 30 Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) programs with colleges and universities across the state and the nation.

Parents are invited to attend sessions on college safety and preparing their student for college life. Lunch and snacks will be served, and there will be an Instagram and Twitter contest.

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m.

“Coming to an open house is a great opportunity for students to explore a career path, connect with our current student leaders, and visit with professors,” said Keith Cobbs, GPC Newton student services dean.

Students who register for the open house will have their $20 application free waived.

To register for the event, go to gpc.edu/openhouse. The GPC Newton Campus is at 239 Cedar Lane, Covington.
