Georgia Perimiter College, which has a campus in Newton County, received good news recently.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Board of Trustees voted June 19 to reaffirm Georgia Perimeter College’s (GPC) accreditation for 10 years. The board also voted to lift the financial warning it issued to the college in December 2012, acknowledging that Georgia Perimeter is now in compliance with all SACS financial standards.

“This is the last item of business related to the college’s fiscal year 2012 financial crisis,” said Rob Watts, interim president for GPC. “The college is closing this chapter in its history. We are now focused on the college’s 50th entering class, which will arrive in 60 days. This is a very good day for the college.”
