General Mills and its foundation donated $600,000 in cash and food products to the American Red Cross for relief efforts following storms and tornadoes that swept through Georgia and the Southeast.

No General Mills business operations were directly affected, but the home of one Covington employee was damaged.

"Together, with the product support from our divisions, we are extending our hearts in a tangible way to help those who have been affected," said Ellen Luger, General Mills vice president.
