Average gas prices in Atlanta will be rising this week. The average retail price for gasoline has risen 5.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.31/gal on Sunday.

The national average this week stands at $3.45/gal, 3 cents higher than a few days ago, according to gasoline price website AtlantaGasPrices.com.

Those who intended for gas prices to stay at a low price are about to be out of luck.

"Oil prices are well off their recent lows, and we'll likely continue to see the national average rise in response. Most regions should see prices rising, while the Rockies areas may see any increase take considerably longer to arrive," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.

The average price of gas in Covington currently averages at $3.29/gal.
Georgia's state average is $3.28/gal, compared to the national average of $3.45/gal, according to gasoline price website AtlantaGasPrices.com.
