Fuzz Run seeks sponsors, participants

September may seem worlds away right now, but before long it will be here, bringing with it the 29th annual Fuzz Run, so now is the time to start signing up to participate or to donate to or become a sponsor of the fundraiser.

The run will be held on Sept. 8 this year. The huge event draws around 4,000 runners, walkers and spectators a year and has been named the Best Race in Georgia for four years by runners participating in the Run and See Georgia Grand Prix series.

For those interested in participating in the run, they can pre-register now. For an individual it is $18 or $60 for four.

There are awards for the top three places in each age group and an award for the top three boys and top three girls in the Fun Run.

The Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m.

For those interested in sponsoring the event, all proceeds go to the Police Who Care organization that helps families in need around the Newton County area, as well as injured officers who are facing hardships.

There are four sponsorship levels: platinum, gold, silver and bronze. A platinum sponsorship is $5,000 and your logo will appear on the front of the race shirt, a fixed logo, along with a scrolling full-color logo on the electronic scoreboard, logo on the Pace Street banner, fixed sign on the entrance to the field and a booth at the Expo (which is held the day before the event, when runners come in to pick their race package up) and on the day of the event.

The gold sponsorship is $2,500. For that you get top billing on the back of the race shirt, scrolling logo on the electronic scoreboard, a fixed sign on the entrance of the field and a booth at the Expo and on the day of the event.

The silver sponsorship is $1,000 and for that you get your logo on the back of the race shirt, scrolling logo on the electronic scoreboard and a fixed sign on the entrance of the field.

Lastly, bronze sponsors pay $500 and for that receive logo on the back of the race shirt and scrolling logo on the electronic scoreboard.

Booth rental is available for any sponsor below the gold level for $100 for both the Expo and on the day of the event. A table and two chairs will be provided.

Deadline for sponsorship is Aug. 1.
