Students and parents can expect to see a now-familiar face behind the scenes and on the front line of public education in the Newton County School System for at least the near future.
The Newton County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday night to extend Samantha Fuhrey’s contract as superintendent of Newton County Schools for an extra one-year period.
Fuhrey’s contract will go through June 2017.
“I am excited to have been extended an additional year,” Fuhrey said. “It affords me the opportunity to continue the work I already started. Under the direction and with the support of the board, we intend to get the job done on behalf of our students and community.”
