On Oct. 30, Bryan Thomas Johnson received official notice he passed the Georgia State Bar exam.  On Nov. 2, Johnson was sworn in as a member of the State Bar of Georgia by his father, Presiding Judge Edward H. Johnson, Court of Appeals of Georgia, sitting by designation as a Judge of the Superior Court of Clayton County. Johnson was also sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for the Clayton Judicial Circuit by District Attorney Tracy Graham Lawson.

On Nov. 5, Johnson was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Georgia by Presiding Justice George H Carley. He was also sworn in as a member of the Bar of the Court of Appeals of Georgia by his father, Presiding Judge Edward H. Johnson.
Johnson is a recent graduate of the Walter F George Law School of Mercer University. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from UGA in 2003 and an associate degree from Oxford of Emory in 2001.  Bryan graduated from Newton County High School in 2008; he is the son of Judge Edward Johnson and Judge Carolyn Weeks and Cathy and Denny Dobbs.
