NEWTON COUNTY — The National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia issued a flood warning for Northwestern Newton County until 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The Newton County Emergency Management Agency reported flooded roadways near the Yellow River. NCEMA also reported portions of Rockdale Road were inundated with up to five feet of water.

As the river continues to rise, low-lying areas may be flooded, including the Riverside Estates RV Park in Covington, according to NCEMA.

NCEMA advised drivers to "turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads" and "stay away or be swept away."
