A fair is coming to town, and a portion of its proceeds will benefit Newton County Relay for Life.

Forever Young Amusements, a family-owned- and-operated carnival based in Georgia, will make a stop in Oxford Oct. 24-27 at The Church at Covington, 11975 Ga. Highway 142.

The fair will be open Thursday and Friday from 5–10 p.m.; Saturday from 1–11 p.m.; and Sunday from 1–5 p.m. Featured will be rides, food and fun for the whole family.

The cost of admission will be $3, with children under age 4 admitted free. The admission fee does not include rides, games or concessions.

Patrons can buy regular tickets, per each ride, or purchase a wristband for $20 that will be good for unlimited rides for one day.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, The Church at Covington will hold its annual fall festival, offering even more family fun, said Ronda Ellis, a Relay for Life team member and an organizer for the event.

Ellis said admissions and a percentage of ticket sales will benefit Newton County Relay for Life.

"This is the first fair; we hope to have one every year," she said.
