The ex-husband of a woman who was beaten in a hotel off City Pond Road Wednesday is being sought by authorities.
Officers from the Covington Police Department were called to the hotel and when they arrived, met with the victim who was "visibly shaken." Officers noted that her hotel room had items strewn all over the floor and the victim's eyes were bloodshot as if she had been crying.
The victim reportedly told officers that she and her ex-husband, Anthony Muldrow Jr., were arguing while in the bathroom and the argument escalated and she knocked several items off the sink.
She said Muldrow "came at her and knocked her into the table in the kitchen, knocking the table over near their 2-year-old son."
The victim also alleged that she attempted to scream while her ex-husband was on top of her but that he covered her mouth with his hand, and she took that opportunity to bite his thumb.
She allegedly told police that "on several occasions [the victim] asked Muldrow to stop in fear he would accidentally strike their child. [The victim] stated there had been other times in the past where Muldrow struck her; she stated he had once broken her leg while she was pregnant."
The victim also told police that Muldrow stood in front of the door refusing to let her leave and had, at one point, taking their child to their car. When he left the child in the car to come back to the room, she snuck out, grabbed her child and ran back into the hotel room where she hid in the bathtub of the locked bathroom with her toddler. She said Muldrow broke the door down, took her money out of her purse and her cell phone, yanked the cord for the room's phone out of the wall, then grabbed the child and left - possibly heading in the direction of South or North Carolina.
She reportedly told officers she was not concerned for their child because Muldrow had never been aggressive toward the toddler before.
