At Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners work session, commissioner John Douglas called for the abandonment of the 2050 Plan.

He called it “unworkable, unwise and unwanted.”

Douglass said he would not appoint a representative from the first district to the 2050 Citizen’s Panel.

“I hope that by withdrawing much of east and south Newton from participation, it will deal a fatal blow to the whole thing,” Douglas said.

The agenda for Tuesday’s BOC public meeting does not include discussion of the 2050. The meeting will be available via livestream at CovnNews.com.
