Dancing the night away

This year, Eastside High School's junior/senior prom was held at The State Botanical Gardens in Athens. A section of the garden was blocked off for the students who attended the prom. For mostly everyone, it was a night to remember.

The theme of the 2012 prom was Enchanted Garden. Thus, the garden fit in perfectly with the theme. Ezell Studios was present taking photos of not only couples, groups and individuals, but also of people out on the dance floor as well.

The flowers and ponds made for beautiful scenery for these photos or for friends and dates to have a casual walk through the facility. Finger foods were served along with iced water, tea and lemonade.

There were many different styles of dresses, tuxedos and hairstyles present. Some girls chose to wear classical evening gowns while others chose to wear shorter dresses. The men's attire varied from black tuxedos to gray and even white.

Some girls were seen with feathers and hats in their hair while others chose to do classical hairstyles. Many girls chose to put braids in their hair - a popular choice this year.

The dance floor was filled with students, and even some Eastside High School employees dancing to the music.
The DJ played hits such as "Moves like Jagger" by Maroon 5, "Cupid Shuffle" by Cupid, "Wop" by J. Dash and "Teach Me How to Dougie" by Cali Swag District. Slow songs included "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. Eastside High School principal Dennis Roddenberry and his wife joined students with the last slow dance of the night.

When the night was over and it was time to head home, there was a chorus of people talking about how they had the time of their lives.

My date and I ended up having a blast with all of our friends. The next day at school, the prom was all everyone talked about.
