Even as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rises around the state, Newton County continues to hold steady with one confirmed case.

According to the March 17 Georgia Department of Public Health COVID-19 Daily Status Report, there are currently 146 confirmed cases in the state. Neighboring Rockdale County now has one confirmed case.

 One COVID-19 death has been reported in Georgia.
