A Covington woman and a Conyers man got special early visits from Santa this week.

Wanda Pitts, 49, played the Georgia Lottery instant game Right On The Money and won a $500,000 top prize.

Georgia Lottery representatives presented Pitts with an oversized check Wednesday at QuikTrip no. 0821, 11124 Highway 142 in Covington, where she had purchased the lucky ticket.

"My niece and I were on our way home from shopping, and my niece said, ‘I feel very lucky. Let’s buy a lottery ticket,’" Pitts explained. "I stopped and purchased a ticket. When I saw the matching No. 14, I lost my mind."

Pitts said she plans to pay off her mortgage, buy a new car and help family members financially.

In Conyers, a winning Georgia Lottery ticket earned Lester Harris a jackpot prize of $522,771.

The Texaco One Stop, located at 1827 Highway 212 S.W. in Conyers, sold Harris a Fantasy 5 ticket from the Nov. 29 drawing that matched all five winning numbers. Winning numbers from that Nov. 29 Fantasy 5 drawing were 18-19-24-30-35.
