A 56-year-old Covington woman was killed in a head-on collision around 2:48 a.m.

Alison M. Bell was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer when an oncoming 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by 17-year-old McKenzie Farrow Crowe of Oxford, a senior at Eastside High School, reportedly crossed the center line and hit her head on, according to Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright.

Crowe was airlifted to Grady Hospital for treatment. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is working on the investigation and charges are pending against Crowe.

"Alcohol is suspected and blood was drawn from Ms. Crowe for analysis," Wright said.
