Michael Geoffroy, partner in LaMalva, Geoffroy & Oeland PC, has been named to the Leadership Georgia class of 2013.

Leadership Georgia is a prestigious 40-year-old organization of community and state leaders. Affiliated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Georgia trains and builds a network of emerging young leaders from across the state. Past participants include a number of influential state and national leaders ranging from former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn to University of Georgia athletic director Vince Dooley.

Geoffroy is an active member of the Covington community, serving as a member on the board of both the Covington Y and the Arts Association of Newton County.

After graduating the University of Georgia School of Law, Geoffroy now lives in Covington with his wife Tara McFarland and two sons Mac and Hudson, while attending The Church of the Good Shepherd.

Sixty-three participants are selected each year from a pool of several hundred applicants. Class members visit five Georgia communities in a year-long exchange of ideas and experiences about issues affecting the state. The class will be led by incoming President Alex Wayne of Flowery Branch. The class will travel to Brasstown Valley, Dublin, Jekyll Island, Dahlonega and Marietta.
