Richard Arthur Swift, 24, was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle.

Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said Swift was on his 2003 Suzuki motorcycle traveling south on Smith Store Road around 12:50 p.m. when the motorcycle topped a hillcrest and he lost control. The vehicle left the road and came to rest in a wooded area. Swift was ejected.

He was taken to Newton Medical Center, then air lifted to Atlanta Medical where he later died.
