A Covington man was killed during a quadruple shooting in Henry County Thursday.

According to Henry County Coroner Donald Cleveland, the deceased were identified as Keith Gibson, 29, of Covington; Matthew James Hicks, 18, of McDonough; Sophia Bullard, 20, of Thomason; and Destiney Olinger, 20, of Jackson. Olinger – is reportedly being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital. The victims all suffered gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred at a home at the 600 block of Moccasin Gap Road in McDonough. Olinger is reportedly the granddaughter of the homeowners.

Five arrests have been made in the case thus far, according to a media release from the Henry County Police Department (HCPD) Captain Joey Smith, commander of the internal affairs division.

Two suspects were identified initially. During the process to locate the suspects, three other individuals who had information or were involved in the incident have also been identified and arrested.

Suspect Matthew James Hicks Baker Jr., 19, of McDonough; and Suspect Jacob Cole Kosky, 22, of McDonough; were arrested and charged with three counts of murder along with additional felonies. The three additional people have been identified as Jacob Williams, 18, of McDonough; Kayla Head, 21, of McDonough; and Brooke Knight, 19, of Locust Grove. Williams, Head and Knight were all charged with obstruction of a police investigation.

“Specific details of this incident cannot be released to preserve the integrity of the investigation,” according to the release. “All parties involved were affiliated with each other in some way. This is a very active investigation and we are preparing for prosecution.”
