A Covington man is being held without bond after being charged with rape July 19.

Richard Timothy Dillon, 43, was arrested following an investigation into accusations made on June 28.

Newton County Sheriff's Lt. Keith Crum said the 16-year-old female victim contacted an investigator and reported the rape. Dillon is known to the victim, who said the sex was in no way consensual.
