Robbers struck a pizza store New Year's morning using a fake gun and a sock and then ran straight into a Rockdale County Sheriff's Office traffic stop where they were caught.

The suspects struck the Domino's pizza store at Honey Creek, on Ga. Highway 20, around 2 a.m., Jan. 1.

According to a store employee, a black male came into the store two times without ordering anything.

The third time he came in, he reportedly pointed a sock at the employee with an object inside it shaped like a gun.

The suspect left with store's money, got into a car waiting outside and fled.

The store manager got into a car and followed the suspects as they drove up Ga. Highway 20.

Both cars approached a traffic checkpoint set up by the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office on Ga. 20.

The manager yelled out to deputies that the people in the car ahead had just robbed her.

The suspects were taken into custody and the store's money was recovered. Inside the car, deputies also found a sock and a cell phone, which had been used as the fake gun.

Jacquille Chisolm, 24, of Covington, and Keyanah Smith, 19, of Conyers, who was driving the car, were both charged with armed robbery.

Both are being held at the Rockdale County jail.
