Covington Lions are one of 257 clubs in Georgia; or one of 46,000 clubs around the world; or 66 members of 1.37 million Lions around the world, all of whom work hard for their sight- and hearing-impaired charities. Covington Lions’ major initiatives this year are: Lions Club International, Georgia Lions Lighthouse for the Blind, Georgia Lions Camp for the Blind and Leader Dogs for the Blind.
The Georgia Lighthouse for the Blind reports 297 eye exams performed, 815 people received a pair of glasses and 121 eye surgeries were performed in our District alone. These are free eye surgeries to those who cannot pay. Lions welcome any donations at any time for the White Cane eye surgery fund! Also, there were 524 hearing aids dispensed in our district. Visit their website: covingtongalions.org.
Please help your Lions by also enjoying chili supper in February 2015 and chicken BBQ in April 2015.
Covington Lions will be collecting for their White Cane fund at the Covington Lions Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. Visit their booth on the Square across the stage!
