A longtime corporal at the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) has announced his retirement.

Cpl. David Gilbert retired on March 28 after 46 years of dedicated law enforcement service, 25 of which he served with the NCSO. Gilbert served in the Special Investigations Division.

“Sheriff Ezell Brown and the NCSO wish Cpl. Gilbert a happy retirement,” a Facebook post from the NCSO read.
