Club collects items in victim's memory

MONROE, Ga. - The Monroe Junior Woman’s Club will hold a Pack Pocket Park event Saturday in memory of Katie Smith Mobley, who was recently killed, allegedly by her estranged husband.

The club is collecting donations to benefit community shelters for abused women. The collection will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Items requested include brushes, combs, shampoo, conditioner, body wash for adults and children, deodorant, toothbrushes and paste, hand sanitizer, paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, baby wipes, diapers and gift cards.

The park is in the 100 block of South Broad Street in downtown Monroe.
