JONESBORO - Clayton County Police Chief Greg Porter says his gun, badge and other items were stolen from his car while he was playing golf.

Porter said he was at a golf course on a furlough day in March when his locked vehicle was broken.

Porter, who was appointed chief in September, said that in addition to his Glock handgun and police badge, thieves made off with his personal identification, medicine, sunglasses, credit cards and house keys from the car's center console. He says none of the items have been recovered.
