The Porterdale Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Fall Festival Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, to raise money for the station.

The free event will be held at the Porterdale Ball Field across from the fire station, 2 Main St.

Firefighter and event organizer Katie Salvage said the festival will include: a booth-decoration contest and a costume contest, with prizes; jumpers for the children; raffles; and food.

Salvage said Ashley Walden, The Robby Parker Band and other musical acts will perform. The festival will have multiple vendors.

"All proceeds will go to the maintenance and repair of the fire station,’’ Salvage said.

There will be a firefighter’s boot at the food and raffle stands where donations can be made. Cash, checks or gift cards to Lowe’s or Home Depot are welcome, she said.

Salvage said individually wrapped candy will also be accepted during the event and will be used during the PVFD’s Halloween Night.
