Porterdale Mayor Arline Chapman has been appointed to the executive board of the Georgia Urban Forestry Council (GUFC).
GUFC’s vision is to be a broad-based leadership resource in promoting the importance of trees throughout Georgia. Chapman said she was honored.
"Trees are a prescription for better health. Porterdale has a commitment to increase the number of trees in our playgrounds, in the Yellow River Park, and along our streets and alleys. Our natural, historic and cultural resources are the three components that make Porterdale a better community."
