OXFORD, Ga. – The Oxford City Council voted Monday night to confirm Matt Pepper as city manager. The vote came after an executive session following the council’s regular meeting.
Pepper came to Oxford in June 2017, serving as assistant city manager. He took over day-to-day operations of the city after the retirement of Bob Schwartz.
Prior to coming to Oxford, Pepper worked for the State of Georgia in the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget. He got his start in municipal government with the City of Alpharetta, where he worked in the office of economic development.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Pepper is a 2012 graduate of Brigham Young University. He received his Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia in 2015.
He and his wife Alexandra (Xan) live in Gwinnett County.
