Easter events range from egg hunts to special services this week in Newton County. Here's a sampling:
- The life of Christ will be presented in a production to be staged at 8 p.m. Saturday and on 8 p.m. Easter Sunday at Crosspointe Church, 252 Byrd Road in Oxford. Donations will benefit Crosspointe Christian Academy in Ethiopia.
- Hebron World Church will stage the Easter drama "This is My Life... Heaven & Hell," at 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday at 7165 Turner Lake Circle. Call (770) 787-8002.
- The second Easter Egg Drop will be held at 1 p.m. at Legion Field. The Easter Bunny will fly in on a helicopter in this event, sponsored by Covington First Baptist Church.
- An Easter Egg-stravaganza will be staged by Hebron World Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 7165 Turner Lake Circle. More than 1,000 eggs and candy will be distributed.
- Briar Creek Apartments, 893 Briar Creek Court in Conyers, will play host to a public Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the swimming pool area. Games, fun and prizes will be offered and the person who finds the golden egg wins a video game bundle.
- Sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. Easter in the church garden at Covington First United Methodist Church. Easter worship services will be held in the sanctuary at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
- Easter on the Square will be offered at 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday. The sponsoring church, First Baptist, will offer free childcare for children younger than age 4.
