A delegation of athletes from Newton County attended the Ga. State Summer Games at Emory University May 20-22.

Nick Stubbs, Cindy Hamlin, Taylor Bradley, Cory Conrad, Gabby Crews, Camron Rodgers, Sara Maddox, Amanda Fuqua, Tyler McLaughlin and Kristina Underwood spent the weekend enjoying the Opening Ceremony and Special Olympic Track and Field events, experiencing the Olympic Village and dancing with friends. Some of these athletes have attended games for 20 years while others are newcomers. The Special Olympic experience has been a bonding experience for all of the families involved.

The parents, chaperones and athletes wish to thank Pam Dew, the Special Olympics Coordinator, for all the many years of hard work. It has been a great year.
