To focus public attention on the contributions of caregivers throughout the state, the Rosalynn Carter Institute on Caregiving, in cooperation with the Georgia CARE-NETS, is seeking nominations for the 2013 Georgia Caregiver of the Year Awards.
Awards will be presented to exemplary caregivers in three categories: Family Caregiver (relative or non-relative perceived as family); Para-Professional Caregivers (LPN, CNA, Home Health Aide, Direct Support Caregiver, etc.); and Volunteer Caregiver (people who volunteer time to provide care to others through community agencies, churches, or as individuals).
Winners will be named at both regional and state levels.
To nominate an outstanding caregiver in the Atlanta region, download the nomination form and instructions on the Atlanta Regional Commission website (PDF) or contact: Mary Lou Vergara, coordinator, Atlanta CARE-NET at 404-463-3524.
To nominate a caregiver outside the 10-county Atlanta region, contact the Area Agency on Aging where the caregiver resides.
The nomination deadline is July 12.
