A woman went to put gas into her 2008 Chevy at 10:30 a.m. Friday when the lever would not lock, and no gas would go into the tank, as if it was full.

According to reports, the woman looked into the opening of the gas tank and saw someone had placed an unknown type of candy bar into the gas tank.

Braves tickets

A woman who was contacted by someone about purchasing Atlanta Braves season tickets called the Covington Police Department after she did not receive them.

The woman said someone contacted her about two sets of baseball season tickets for $500. According to reports, she sent $200 by Western Union and $150 by Green Dot Card in March. Once the season started, the woman, reportedly, sent texts wondering where her tickets were, but never heard back. Reports went on to say that she texted the man to see if she would get her tickets or her $350 back, but didn’t receive a return call.

The woman reported she heard this same thing happened to others.

New hope burglary

A man arrived at New Hope Baptist Church Saturday to see evidence of a break in.

According to reports, the complainant saw that the door to the fellowship hall had been kicked in. He went on to say the door to the office had been kicked in as well, and the safe was taken. According to reports, the safe contained approximately $300 in petty cash and 1,000 checks drafted from New Hope Baptist Church.
