Covington Area Employers Committee members recently held a back-to-school drive, earmarking collected school supplies for Middle Ridge Elementary School students. Committee members delivered the needed items inside backpacks to the school Friday, August 15.
The Covington Area Employers Committee includes representatives from Future Staff, Express Pro, Apollo Staffing, Bridgestone Gold, Fiber Visions and Michelin, to name a few.
“Part of our efforts as the employer committee in this area is to build our future workforce and to make sure they have the tools they need to succeed,” said Margie Ensley of Future Staff.
“This is the third year the Employers Committee has done this for us,” said Michael Forehand, Middle Ridge principal.
“It’s a great partnership. We know our students will grow up and become workers in the workforce. Everything the Employers are providing for us is helping our parents, some of whom do not have the means to provide school supplies for their boys and girls.
“We’re just thankful they are able to provide that for us. They are a wonderful partner in education.”
