For more than two decades Newton Package Shop has been serving the citizens of Newton County with a knowledgeable and friendly staff and a large selection of wines, beers and liquors.

Located off U.S. Highway 278 across from the old Wal-Mart, Newton Package has many hard-to-find items. They have a large selection of wines and specialize in smaller vineyards. The store also boasts the largest selection of beers in the county and many types of specialty scotches.

"We appreciate the community's business greatly," said General Manager Marshall McCart. "We have many regulars that we are friendly with. It is a privilege to receive their business."

Along with McCart and owner Jane H. Alexander, Newton Package also has several other employees, each with a vast expertise of the different beverages available at the store. Combined with their low prices, Newton Package is hard to beat.

The store has various specials throughout the year which coincide with sporting events and holidays. Having just celebrated Fat Tuesday, Newton Package is now gearing up for St. Patrick's Day with specials in Irish beer and whisky.

"We strive to have very good prices throughout the year," McCart said. "The three keys to serving the community well are you have to have great prices a great selection and great people," he said. "And we have all of that here."
