Spring has sprung in Newton County, and it’s the perfect time of year to get your lawn and garden into pristine condition. Master Landscape Supply in Covington has everything that the most dedicated gardener would need to make their garden the envy of the neighborhood.

It wouldn’t be a garden without beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees, and Master Landscape Supplies keeps these products in its greenhouses all year long. Rosebushes, butterfly bushes, junipers, oaks and many other products are available to plant in your home garden. They also have a large selection of annual and perennial flowers to choose from.

Tim Reed and Mark Smith co-own the store. "Right now is a good time for liming and fertilizing," Reed said. "We carry all chemicals — fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides.

For the lawn, they have six different types of sod available, including Bermuda, Centipede, Atlanta Blend Fescue, Meyer Zoysia, Empier Zoysia and Palmetto St. Augustine. For detailed information on each of these products, speak to an employee or visit Master Landscape Supply online. They deliver by the pallet or by the 18-wheeler.

Master Landscape Supply also offers the tools and decorations needed to turn a garden from ordinary to extraordinary. The store carries a full line of stone casting products such as benches and statues, produced locally by Athens Stonecasting. They regularly stock several different sizes of DekoRRa fake rocks, which are hollow on the inside and are ideal for covering up eyesores such as valve boxes and manholes. They keep supplies of garden and path lighting for sale as well to make your lawn and garden’s beauty show even after dark.

They also supply all the necessary equipment to properly irrigate and drain a lawn and garden, including above and below ground watering systems. The products are easy to install in your own lawn, and their workers and Web site contain instructions on exactly what to do. Reed also stated that workers will install or plant any product the customer buys from their store.

Reed said that the business has been open since 1995.
