Local company Apollo Staffing has been honored as the 10th fastest-growing company in metro Atlanta in 2013 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Apollo, a staffing firm headquartered in Covington, was honored with one of the Chronicle’s 2013 Pacesetter Awards for its growth, which saw the company increase its revenue by 1,200 percent and grow its workforce by 108 percent from 2010 to 2012.
Apollo has 15 internal employees and around 600 external employees, according to Vice President Jamie Cummings.
To qualify for the award, a company had to be privately held, headquartered in the 20-county metro area, not be a subsidiary of another company, have been established in the first quarter of 2010 or earlier, have experienced two-year growth in sales of more than 50 percent and garnered revenue between $1 million and $300 million in 2012. Companies had to apply to be considered.
Cummings attributed her company’s impressive growth to the staff’s hard work and a different approach to seeking clients.
“When we go out on sales calls, most staffing agencies go with card in hand with a ‘vendor approach.’ I feel that our service should sell itself. We take resumes to companies in the area for positions they may be struggling with. It may require a little more work, but everything we do for our clients takes more work,” Cummings said in an email.
Extensive safety training is also provided for all employees, with a goal of reducing the burden on companies’ human resources departments.
Apollo Staffing was founded in 2008 and has offices in Covington, Savannah, Cartersville and McDonough. It specializes in manufacturing with a heavy presence in clerical, medical and janitorial. For more information, visit staffapollo.com.
