Covington is in the running to be featured on the new reality “Lovetown USA”, a show that promises to tackle the biggest dating challenge in TV history.

The show is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide Productions and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

“Does your hometown need cupid’s arrow? Are you or do you know someone who is single and wants to find love? Could your whole town come together to help match the singles and bring a new found mutual love to your entire community?” said a press release.

“We’ll be taking over one whole town for the biggest dating challenge in TV history. Over 30 days, an expert team of matchmakers will guide the quest for love, examining the effects it can have on the DNA of one American community. We are looking for a real community spirit. From local business owners to the mayor, librarian, basketball coach, everyone in our chosen town is in it for love.”

The show was looking for a city with a population around 15,000 residents, a storybook, picturesque location and a definite sense of community.

Covington is being considered; to nominate a town or to apply to be on the show, a person can send an email to LovetownUSA@gmail.com and include their name, age, hometown, contact information and photos of themselves and their town along with a brief story about why they and their town are ready to fall in love. The applicant should put their name and town in the subject of the email.
