Jonathan Andrews graduates from GDOLs 2011 EXCEL program

Jonathan Andrews of Newton County, second from right, a unit supervisor in the Georgia Department of Labor's Covington Career Center, has graduated from the department's recent class of its Executive Commitment to Excellence in Leadership program.

EXCEL is designed to develop future leaders for the department. Classes explore the major political, social, and economic issues facing the state and nation. EXCEL is a partnership between the GDOL and the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government.

The graduation ceremony was held recently in Athens. Participating in the graduation were, left to right, Laura Meadows, director of education and development for the Carl Vinson Institute; Brooke Lucas, deputy commissioner of workforce solutions for the Georgia Department of Labor; and David Key, EXCEL facilitator for the Carl Vinson Institute.
