The Georgia Department of Revenue announces that the "Energy and Water Efficient" sales tax holiday weekend will be Oct. 5-7.

Energy efficient products that will be exempt from sales and use tax will bear the ENERGY STAR® label and have a purchase price of $1,500 or less per item. As for water efficient products, in order to be exempt from sales and use tax, they will need to have the WaterSense® label and have a purchase price of $1,500 or less per item.

During the Oct. 5-7 sales tax holiday, the following items will be exempt:

•Energy efficient products with a sales price of $1,500 or less per item

•Water efficient products with a sales price of $1,500 or less per item.

The exemption does not apply to purchases for trade, business, resale or commercial use.
