Covington area employer committee meets

The Covington Area Employer Committee kicked off its 2011-2012 year with a legislative update from Kash Trivedi, Georgia Department of Labor’s Government Liaison.

Trivedi traveled across the state and visited all local employer committees providing each with updated information regarding passed or pending legislation of the Georgia General Assembly.

The Covington Area Employer Committee is the leading human resource organization with a commitment to seeking solutions for unemployment in the area, in conjunction with the local Department of Labor, creating a dialogue between the private and public business sectors and providing professional development opportunities for the human resource professionals in the area. Members include private business and industry human resource leaders, school system administrators, Department of Labor director/supervisors, technical college partners and the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce. 

The 2012 officers are Chairman Shannon Davis, with Covington/Newton Chamber of Commerce, Vice President Candy Morris, with Nisshinbo, Treasurer Bob Wehner, with Pre-Paid Legal Services and Secretary Heather Weiss, with Manpower.
