COVINGTON, Ga. - On Tuesday, Modern Day Digital, a digital marketing company, held a ribbon cutting ceremony outside its office on Washington Street.

Covington native John Mealer, CEO and chief marketing strategist at Modern Day Digital, brought his company from Conyers to Covington to be a part of the economic growth within the community. He decided to open his first physical location on the Covington Square because he knew his company could help new businesses.

Newton County has seen a growth of small businesses, and Mealer believes that his company can get involved with the growth and “help [the small businesses] find their ideal customers and bring them in.”

“We want to be part of helping them get found and grow their companies,” Mealer said.

Modern Day Digital helps businesses grow by knowing “how to model a business to the audience that they want to reach,” according to the company’s information pamphlet. “Our agency presents business organizations in a qualified digital form that allows seamless customer interaction.”

The company offers many services to help grow a business:

  • Search engine optimization: a strategy to improve rankings and boost website traffic

  • Website development: designing websites for the customer’s needs

  • Social media management: constructs plans to grow presence online

  • Social media and search engine advertising: promoting services and products the business offers

  • Google my business: improve online presence through Google

  • Lead generation: using a customer’s interest to gain new clients

Covington Mayor Ronnie Johnston was in attendance at the ribbon cutting and spoke about how thrilled he was about Modern Day Digital being a part of the community.  He believed that “small businesses are the heartbeat of everything” in the community and urged everyone to buy local.
