Kelley Johnston, right, of Bread and Buttery Bakery received an award for the best product of a week-long class at the University of Georgia's Food Science Department.

Bread and Butter's Russian Tea Cookies was the class's favorite among items tasted.

Bread and Butter sells products in its store on Monticello Street and at Farmview in Madison.

One of the reasons Johnston took the class she said is for further expansion.

"We're trying to learn more about packaging," Johnston said. "We have nine products now at FarmView and we're moving into more markets."
