Kindergartners and their parents were invited to attend a "Boo Hoo Breakfast" at the Newton County Theme School at Ficquett yesterday morning. Designed to help both parents and kindergartners with their first day of "big kid" school, the breakfast featured coffee and juice, as well as pastries served in the media center. It allowed children to spend a little more time with parents before they headed to class. "One of the biggest gifts we can give our children is encouragement and you have just given that gift!" read a letter to parents from theme school counselors Rebecca Bates and Elizabeth Thompson. "By taking your child to class today, you said ‘I believe in you’ through your actions."
