A Covington woman remains jailed after reportedly trying to alter a criminal background check form Tuesday. Carmen Denise Neal, 44, reportedly visited the Newton County Sheriff’s Office for a background check that an employer required. When she turned in her background check to Brown Bridge Academy, the employer contacted the NCSO because she felt the background check paperwork looked odd, according to NCSO Public Information Officer Cortney Morrison.
