The Arts Association of Newton County and Covington Regional Ballet have assumed the operation of Mainstream Dance Studio.

For the summer, the Contemporary, Intro and Classical Partnering and Summer Ballet Company will be conducted by Jaime Robtison; the Arts Association will run other scheduled summer programs. School year 2013-14 programming and summers thereafter will all be conducted by the Arts Association/CRB.

Artistic directors of the studio and company will be Peter and Ashley Swan, who have served for two years as artistic directors of Covington Regional Ballet and instructors at Mainstream Dance.

Buncie Hay Lanners, executive director of the Arts Association, said, “This is a big step for the Arts Association in assuring this community that the role of dance is here to stay.’’
