The nationally acclaimed Georgia 4-H Performing Arts Group Clovers & Co. will entertain at Porter Hall at Newton High School at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. Clovers & Co. is composed of 42 talented singers, dancers, instrumentalists and stagehands from across the state of Georgia, ranging in age from 11 to 18. Clovers & Co. performs on behalf of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension's youth program 4-H.

The Clovers & Co. show features 45 minutes of singing and dancing backed by a live band. This year's show "Stand Up" combines songs of the past and present in a fast-paced show for all ages.

Performing arts is one of the most popular projects in the Georgia 4-H Program. Established in 1981, Clovers & Co. was created to provide 4-H-ers with an opportunity to share their talents. Over 150 4-H-ers audition during the groups annual statewide tryouts for positions in the show cast. The group is led by 4-H volunteers and state 4-H staff members.

The group has several famous alumni including Grammy winners Jennifer Nettles, from Covington, of Sugarland and Hillary Lindsay, writer of "Jesus Take the Wheel" as well as 14 other number one hits.

The concert is offered by The Arts Association in Newton County, and tickets are $5 and can be purchased at The Arts Association office or at www.newtoncountyarts.org.
