A Covington man was arrested Wednesday night, after a robbery left someone shot in the right elbow and in an Atlanta hospital Tuesday.

The shooting took place on Avery Street, shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, as the victim said a man came to his home and pulled a gun.

According to Covington Police Capt. Craig Treadwell, detectives investigated the incident Tuesday evening and Wednesday, leading to an arrest Wednesday night.

Brian Stone, of 5136 Lackey Street, was charged with armed robbery, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Treadwell said Stone’s girlfriend, Kelicia Dunton, was also arrested and charged with hindering in the apprehension of a felon.
